Get Ready for the 19th Annual Stew Cook-Off!
On Friday, Feb. 5, dress warm and head down to the ByWard Market to kick off Winterlude with all the stew you can eat!
The 19th Annual Stew Cook-Off is a competition between ByWard Market businesses. Don’t miss your chance to vote for your favourite in the People’s Choice Awards, and find out who will win the Judge’s Choice Awards.
This year’s celebrity judges are Ron Eade, food critic for the Ottawa Citizen, Yannick Anton, Executive Chef of Le Cordon Bleu’s bistro Signatures, Police Chief Vernon White, Rideau-Vanier Councillor Georges Bédard, Bill Parker from Magic 100 and Mike Poliwoda from the United Way’s Project S.T.E.P.
The event costs 10$, all proceeds of which will be donated to Project S.T.E.P. Last year’s event raised over $5000 for Operation Come Home’s BeadWorks.
Stew Cook-off takes place in the ByWard Market at the corner of George St. and William St. from noon to 2 pm. It takes place no matter what the weather, so come early to enjoy a fantastic afternoon of delicious stew and family fun!
