Pirate Radio is an ensemble comedy from filmmaker Richard Curtis , about a seafaring
band of rogue rock and roll deejays whose “pirate radio” captivated
and inspired 1960s Britain. Playing the music that rocked a nation and a decade,
the group boldly and hilariously defies the government that tries to shut them
down.

This
two time Gemini nominee is a force to be reckoned with. Nominated for best comedy
performance, this sharp-tongued comedian takes no prisoners. He can take a one-word
answer and turn it into a fifteen-minute farce. He’s smart, funny and
his improv skills are considered among the best. Ian’s stand-up ranges
from: observational, to self-deprecating, to one-liners and always with the
audience in mind. “People want to be part of the show and it’s my
job to do that, but never at anyone’s expense. It’s all in good
fun and everyone leaves with a smile on his or her face."
Jake Mckinnon of Bravo magazine described Ian as, “A cross between Denis
Leary and Don Rickles.” Ian has toured extensively across Canada and the
United States. In New York, he regularly frequented the stages of “Stand-up
New York” and “Caroline’s”. Ian has performed and written
for comedy shows on the Comedy network and CTV; Comedy Inc, Nikki Payne’s
Fun Hour, and The Jon Dore show are among his many credits.

Derick
emerged onto the Montreal Comedy Scene in 2000 and immediately attracted attention.
In 2001 he appeared in the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival where his style
was described as clever writing with a quick left turn into absurdity.
Since
then Derick has gone on to record his own 1 hour special for television. Its
success earned him a Canadian Comedy Award nomination for “Best Newcomer.”
Most recently Derick took home silver in the 33rd Annual San Francisco Comedy
Competition!

Rob Ross has been a professional comic for 12 yrs. He was recently featured
in his own one hour “Comedy Now” special “Local Boy”
on both The Comedy Network and CTV, as well as a gala performance on CBC’s
“Prairie Comedy Celebration” hosted by David Steinberg. He has also
been working in television for many years. Rob has been featured on the CBC
series “Comics!” as well as appearing in Montreal’s “Just
For Laughs” comedy festival, and Toronto’s “People’s
Comedy Festival”, with Rita Rudner.His writing credits include writing
for “The Geminis”, “The Junos”, “The NHL Awards”,
“Street Cents”, “Monday Report”, “Comedy Inc.”
and “Open Mike”. Credits aside,
Ross’s unique style, intelligent material and fast paced delivery has
made him popular on the college circuit and has won him the respect of his peers.
