Wreck
MMA: Unite for Brian’s Fight
Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec
Date: April 16th
Fitshop.ca and Wreck MMA are excited to announce some additions to Wreck MMA:
Unite for Brian’s Fight that will take place on Friday April 16th, 2010
at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec.
After a rocky-like Wreck debut, Ronin MMA's Nick 'The Ninja of Love' Denis will
now be headlining the event against Team Quest standout Ian 'The Barn Owl' Loveland
for the Wreck Bantamweight Title. Denis is coming off an impressive come from
behind victory against Sean Quinn and is looking to bring his world class talent
to the ultra-exciting Loveland. A teammate of Chael Sonnen (#1 contender for
the UFC Milddleweight Title) Loveland loves to stand and bang and recently won
his fifth straight fight by knocking out UFC veteran Doug Evans with a head
kick. The winner of this bout will be the first ever champion in Wreck history!

This
two time Gemini nominee is a force to be reckoned with. Nominated for best comedy
performance, this sharp-tongued comedian takes no prisoners. He can take a one-word
answer and turn it into a fifteen-minute farce. He’s smart, funny and
his improv skills are considered among the best. Ian’s stand-up ranges
from: observational, to self-deprecating, to one-liners and always with the
audience in mind. “People want to be part of the show and it’s my
job to do that, but never at anyone’s expense. It’s all in good
fun and everyone leaves with a smile on his or her face."
Jake Mckinnon of Bravo magazine described Ian as, “A cross between Denis
Leary and Don Rickles.” Ian has toured extensively across Canada and the
United States. In New York, he regularly frequented the stages of “Stand-up
New York” and “Caroline’s”. Ian has performed and written
for comedy shows on the Comedy network and CTV; Comedy Inc, Nikki Payne’s
Fun Hour, and The Jon Dore show are among his many credits. He also had his
own Comedy Now special on CTV.

David
Acer is a Gemini-award-nominated writer and comedian who has done crazy things
on dozens of television shows around the world, like protesting outside a train
station dressed as a giant penny while inviting people to lie down on the tracks
to “see how it feels,” and limping to the couch for a talkshow interview
with a Denver Boot on his leg because, as he put it, he had “a few unpaid
j-walking tickets.” He has appeared on a multitude of international specials
(BBC England’s The Secret World of Magic, NHK Japan’s F.I.S.M. 2000,
Discovery’s Grand Illusions), a plethora of Canadian comedy classics (CBC’s
Just For Laughs, CTV’s Comedy Now, CHCH’s Comedy at Club 54), and
an array of American prime-time standards (A&E’s Comedy on the Road,
ABC’s America’s Funniest People), not to mention live around the
world and 10 times at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. But younger
viewers are more likely to recognize him as “Doubting Dave” from
Discovery Kids' Mystery Hunters, which garnered him two Gemini nominations (the
Canadian equivalent of the Emmys) for Best Writing in a Children’s Non-Fiction
Series, and the publication of his new book, “Gotcha: 18 Amazing Ways
to Freak Out Your Friends.” Check out video clips, audio clips and more

Canadian born and proud Hamiltonian, Kyle Radke is entering his 9th year as
a professional stand up comedian. In his first few months of performing, Kyle
went from "struggling" on open mics to "growing" (read:
bombing) on Canadian main stages in front of tens of people.
After his first terrifying and disappointing year of comedy, Kyle slowly began
to make a name for himself within the stand up community and suddenly went from
"barely tolerable" to "not bad" at Mark Breslin's Yuk Yuks
comedy clubs and venues across Canada where he began studying comedy - 101 the
only way someone can... on stage, in front of a live audience. Kyle's efforts
soon paid off with a run of success that earned him a C.O.C.A performer of the
year nomination, a nomination for The Tim Sims Encouragement Award and a nomination
for The Phil Hartman Award. He won none of them and as a result, Kyle temporarily
sold out to the world of T.V commercials and promptly developed an image disorder.
Since then, this man called Radke has been working very hard to consistently
bring new, better and more personal material to the stage. Described by his
peers as "...an extremely funny comedian with limited marketability due
to unfortunately being straight, white and a man..." Kyle Radke has focused
his efforts on being universal with no angle and nothing to hide except his
numerous addictions and personality disorders. His charming and honest style
doesn't target any specific age, race or gender. It targets them all.
