In hiphop, a group composed of two emcees and a DJ is not a breakthrough concept, rather it is a tried and stable platform for the creation of music grounded in the traditional fundamentals of the culture. The grace, poise and fluidity of the breakdancer, the metallic-scented yet organically vibrant colours of a freshly spray-painted work of graffiti art, the precision and craftsmanship of a DJ working his trade, and the hypnotic, engaging intensity of the charismatic master of ceremonies (emcee): all these elements combine to form a compound known as HIPHOP and all are inherently infused into hiphop music. Though operating with similarly staffed rosters, the sound of these two groups is very different. Different, new and surprising, yet always entertaining, is the kind of sound offered by the two emcee and a DJ crew known as FONETIKS, who pride themselves in being able to span the diverse sounds of hiphop's sub-genres with flair and professionalism. This is no idle boast, as the individuals who comprise this three man team now representing Ottawa, Canada each bring a unique resume of talent, experience and musical influences to the table.

Fonetiks, composed of DJ Producer T-Wrecks (2nd Place DMC), MC's Hyfidelik and mAuRo, are determined to bring an alternative genre of hip hop to the table. Influenced by anything that is original, they've developed their talents together since high school, mastering their skills. Along with their crew, Track Mongers, they are set to become one of the new faces of Canadian Hip Hop. With their freshly released debut album, "Sky is Falling", they plan to demonstrate by show and prove methods, that music can be made to be real, simply by the feeling that goes into it. "keepin' it real" is something that is used too much by artists nowadays without knowing what it really stand for. Now, Fonetiks is here to show you that 'real' is something different found within all of us, bridging the gap between artist and listener.
